The DevOps Lead Developer (DLD) will be responsible for the build & deployment, automation and orchestration of tasks for applications in our private and public cloud environments. The DLD will create CI/CD pipelines, automate environment configurations with agile teams and deliver high quality solutions as part of the Experian Marketing Services (EMS) team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. DLD will need to have a strong desire to automate aspects of the existing application development and deployment processes. The DLD will provide support to teams who provision and/or operate the operating systems running in the cloud, as well as work closely with architects to define the right application and environment management solution. This is a hands-on role for a DLD that mentors junior DevOps team members and leads by example in a team setting.

**Responsibilities:

--Automate application build and deployment processes on private and public cloud infrastructure.
--Identify opportunities to improve / enhance via scripting, process orchestration and automation.
--Introduce DevOps best practices to teams in EMS.
--Works with technical users to understand their priorities and application requirements. Negotiates and documents action plans, and implements DevOps automation to address requirements.
--Advises and mentors other internal staff and support teams
--There will be occasions when the candidate will be required to work unsocial hours.

**Qualifications:

--Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) related field or equivalent work experience
--5-7 years of experience automating CI/CD processes for development teams
--2+ years of experience using the agile methodology
--Passion and drive to improve efficiencies in how we deliver IT services
--Experience mentoring junior DevOps team members
--Proven previous job stability, including maintaining long-term work relationships with former employers
--Must be able to clear the company’s pre-employment screening
**Required Skills:

--Experience designing DevOps processes, implementing said processes and supporting large-scale applications / services
--Experience with CI/CD tools such as Puppet, Chef, Bladelogic, etc.
--Experience with code management software such as BitBucket (based on Git) and agile tools such as JIRA or GitLab
--Strong understanding of programming concepts and scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc., with the ability to pick up any scripting language quickly
--Understanding of web protocols (HTTP, SOAP, REST, etc.)
--Understanding of either web-based or distributed application architectures is a plus
--Experience defining and documenting best practices
--Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
--Strong organizational skills
--Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

**Desired Skills:
--Proficiency with a public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, etc.)
--Understanding of Docker and other container technologies
--Some experience with process orchestration software (MuleSoft Flow, Azkaban, Oozie, etc.)
