Cisco voice implementation/design

This is a key technical position within the global Group Infrastructure Team, with the following main
responsibilities in full collaboration with the Manager of Group IT Infrastructure Services Design, and all the
Group IT Infrastructure Design Team members:
Provide both the Business & the global Infrastructure Group expertise in the development &
execution of IT Infrastructure Voice services and Solutions to business problems, from both a
strategic and tactical perspective;
Enable positive differentiation of our business compared to our competitors by bringing
innovative infrastructure solutions
Efficient transition of designed solutions to Implementation team
Specific Responsibilities
Design and maintain a holistic view of global IT Technical LAN and Voice Architecture and advise on strategy
Maintain a cutting edge knowledge of developments in IT LAN and Voice Infrastructures and make
appropriate recommendations
Provide LAN and Voice technical consultancy and project resource to other Technical groups, e.g. the
European Data Centre, Global Data Centre, local IT Groups, Corporate teams, Functional Teams
Play a coordinating role in the development and execution of LAN and Voice strategy and initiatives within
the Design, the Implementation & Transition team and within Group Functional Teams
Be a proactive actor in planning the implementation and support of LAN and Voice new technologies and
revamping projects, via correct transition to Implementation team
Create precise build, implementation, and operation documentation of designed solutions, in order to ease
transition to operations
Contribute to the IT budget planning process and ensure appropriate cost control of all LAN infrastructures
at all times
Actively participate in key Emerson Corporate Global Projects when necessary
Be an active Service owner for new services, establish Service team around the service and prepare to
transition the service ownership

Exceptional Technical IT Skills and in-depth knowledge of IT Infrastructure related technology and its future
direction, extensive experience required (8-10 years desired)
Preferred IT Skill areas should include:
Cisco Call Manager Voice solutions, with certifications preferred
Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI)
Experience with voice and video protocols and design
LAN Design, VLANs and Trunking
LAN Hardware expert
Cabling solutions and topologies
IP Protocol v4 and v6, IP Sec
Monitoring solutions
Wireless networks
Network Access Control strategies and protocols
Data compression and interaction with WAN protocols and design
Desired soft skills should include:
Demonstrate Leadership skills/potential along with the ability to interact and lead people in a
matrix organization – tact and diplomacy are essential attributes;
Project Management experience – formal training beneficial;
Comfortable and easy at transmitting knowledge and growing other team member skills
Strong analytical capabilities
Ability to work under pressure and demonstrably action orientated
Language knowledge: Fluent in English (speaking / writing), other languages an advantage
Flexible attitude towards working hours
Travel in Europe & other World Areas when required, appreciation of other world areas cultures
