Export associate kyc / cdd specialist (mid-level)

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
o KYC / CDD
o Sanctions or export compliance
o Restricted-party screening
o Risk, compliance, or due diligence functions in a corporate environment
• Strong open-source research and analytical investigation skills
• Ability to assess and document risk using incomplete, fragmented, or imperfect data
• Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Excel or Smartsheet skills for analysis, tracking, and documentation
• Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to:
o Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
o Follow instructions, guidance, and priorities set by supervisors
o Seek clarification when needed and align work with team standards
• Ability to operate independently within defined processes and supervision, without requiring constant oversight
• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Sound judgment and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions without requiring constant supervision


Preferred Skills & Experience

• Working knowledge of U.S. export control and sanctions frameworks (e.g., EAR, OFAC), at a practical—not legal-expert—level
• Experience conducting corporate ownership and control analysis, including layered or opaque structures
• Familiarity with risk-based compliance frameworks and escalation decisioning
• Experience in consulting, advisory, audit, or corporate compliance environments
• Exposure to China-based entities, OEMs, or international supply-chain models
• Experience using corporate research or network-analysis tools (e.g., Sayari Graph or similar platforms)
• Foreign language capability (Chinese or Russian) is a plus but not required
