Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.

Responsibilities
• Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of firmware, including DSP, embedded code, EFI drivers, EFI applications and BIOS/UEFI ?
• Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines. ?
• Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements. ?
• Participates as a member of project team of other firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem. ?
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding firmware design status, project progress, and issue resolution. ? ?
• Collaborates with peers, junior engineers and external design partners. ?
• Typically partners with high-level Individual Contributors and Managers. ?

Requisitos para aplicar

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. ?
• Typically 2-5 years experience ?
• Using firmware design tools and languages. ?
• Programming experience in C or C++ ?
• Knowledge in scripting languages like Python, Perl, Shell, etc. ?
• Experience with Compilers (Go, FORTRAN, Assembly) ?
• OS: UNIX as user and administrator ?
• RTOS: Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems ?
• Familiarity with kernel and drivers development ?
• Knowledge with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review ?
• Good knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems ?
• Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills. ?
• General understanding of firmware and hardware design, including interactions and integrations of ?firmware with hardware ?
• Firmware testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and ?tools. ?
• Leads/coach technical staff and/or junior engineers. ?
• Applies some advanced skills to the position or specialization. ?
• Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of ?specialization. ?
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in English and local language.?
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, providing input and feedback in a helpful ?manner. ?
• Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
