Descripción general

Objectives of the position:

Responsible for timely and accurate processing of returned products, void/correct claims, and post invoice credits.


Main Responsibilities:

Reviews the status of pickup/exchange tickets created in Brightree along with returns files received from shipping vendors, and confirms the quantity of each item returned to the vendors warehouse has been credited to Comfort Medical
Updates each invoice (primary, secondary, tertiary, patient) with credits to be refunded to the payer and/or patient
Submits void/corrected claims or overpayment refund requests once the credit is documented to initiate a refund to the payer.
Communicates any systems or procedure issues their manager that may affect returns, credits or refunds
Communicates effectively with teammates and other departments to source and collect data; supports the team culture within the organization by adhering to policies, practices and the company’s mission statement
Documents actions in billing system and CRM in accordance with company policy
Maintains familiarity with equipment, routine and standards of the department; monitors and implements changes in procedures, technologies, policies and practices as directed by manager
Integrates new technologies, tools or system applications that can increase production via streamlines processes or procedures into day-to-day processing of returns
Performs job responsibilities within established regulatory guidelines (HIPAA / PHI) and reports non-compliant activity to manager; protects patient and company confidentiality in all matters of processing accounts
Provides exceptional service to patients, internal and external customers and third-party payors; interacts in a professional manner with all contacts to promote effective exchanges of information
Looks for ways to improve and promote quality processes within and outside of the department
Implements change in a constructive and beneficial manner, recognizing the need for change and the results of improved work processes.
Maintain knowledge of all regulatory requirements by attending in-service classes and annual HIPAA updates.


Knowledge and Experience:

High school diploma required.
3 years’ experience in medical billing /collection practices.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing code.
3 years medical experience, experience in DME industry.
Advanced English Proficiency 85%.
On-site schedule mode (San Pedro)
