About the Job

Technical Project Managers are part of the Akamai Service Delivery team and work directly with clients to deliver Akamai's solutions. This role is a hybrid of technical integration and project management skills where you will be involved in all phases of the project life cycle, including requirement gathering, project management, implementation, testing and customer sign-off. You need a strong technical background, excellent client and project management skills to be successful in this role. You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences. Working with Akamais Media, Enterprise, Commerce and Hi Tech customers, you will utilize Akamais portfolio of security, media, downloads, mobile and acceleration products.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the single point of contact for the customer for all technical and project deliverables.
- Integrate Akamai's Solutions including media, acceleration, downloads and security products.
- Own the technical components of a customer integration project including but not limited to design, configuration, testing, debugging, documentation, and go live support.
- Work closely with customers and sales teams to manage and integrate the customers web application or environment into Akamais Intelligent Platform; setting accurate expectations on effort and timelines for integration.
- Partner with Business Support, Sales, Engineering, Product Development and Customer Care to resolve issues that arise during customer engagements.
- Identify technical and project risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Participate in internal projects that help scale the group, implement best practices, and improving our methodology and quality of integrations.

Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information System, Electronic Engineering, Network Engineering or relevant field experience.
- Minimum 2 years of overall experience in IT industry.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web architecture and design or relevant coursework.

Desired Qualifications
- High proficiency/fluency in English.
- Working knowledge of the full software development life.
- Previous project management experience is a plus.
- Technical consulting / support experience is a plus.
- Experience with MS Project or similar Project Management Software.
- Experience in a customer facing role requiring a high level of individual responsibility, accountability, sound business judgment and large enterprise account management.
- Implementation experience with web delivery technologies.
- Experience in one or more web development languages, methodologies, and/or architectures - J2EE, HTTP, DNS, .NET, C#, JSP, ASP, Tomcat, Apache.
- Experience with TCP/IP network debugging with tcpdump or similar is desired.
