Descripción general

The Program Specialist (PS) is a key member of the English Education team, primarily responsible for identifying and preparing educational institutions, families, and communities (a.k.a. "sites") for volunteer placement. Consequently, the PS will frequently travel within the country to meet with counterparts and host families, ensuring that agency requirements for volunteer placement at the site are met.

The PS is responsible for documenting the site development process using the appropriate forms and platforms. Additionally, the PS may assist in facilitating sessions within the trainee and volunteer training program, particularly those focused on logistics and processes.

Other duties requiring PS support include, but are not limited to: providing logistical and administrative support; developing instructional training materials; maintaining up-to-date volunteer documentation in the system; conducting site visits to inspect independent housing for volunteers; providing empathetic yet objective support regarding the various situations volunteers encounter at their sites, in accordance with current policies; conducting monitoring visits to volunteers at their sites; and participating in logistics meetings for training events, as well as staff meetings and activities.

Team collaboration, a drive for innovation, assertive communication, mutual respect, strong organizational and prioritization skills, flexibility in schedule and mindset, a willingness to travel throughout the country, and cultural sensitivity are among the most outstanding characteristics sought in the individual who will fill the PS role for the English Education project.
