IT Support Specialist – Middleware Engineer (Message Queue & Kafka)

Hybrid Bogotá, Colombia

We are looking for a Middleware Engineer – Message Queue Specialist to join our global IT team in Bogotá, Colombia. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about support, monitoring, and troubleshooting middleware platforms, ensuring stability and performance across enterprise systems.

You will play a key role in monitoring alerts, resolving incidents, and optimizing messaging platforms in both on-premise and cloud environments.

**What You’ll Do

- Provide L2 support for middleware and message broker platforms
- Monitor alerts and resolve incidents impacting production systems
- Manage and optimize message queues, topics, brokers, and pipelines
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to message delivery and integration flows
- Support and maintain Apache Kafka environments (topics, partitions, consumers)
- Improve system performance through tuning, automation, and optimization
- Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams on Kubernetes and Azure environments
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and monitoring dashboards
- Participate in on-call rotations

**What You Bring

- 5–8 years of experience in Application Support or Middleware Engineering
- Hands-on experience with ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, MSMQ, or similar
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience supporting or working with Apache Kafka
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services (preferred)
- Experience with DevOps tools, GitHub, automation, and monitoring platforms
- Strong troubleshooting skills (consumer lag, partition imbalance, connectivity issues)

**Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5–8 years of relevant experience
- Strong English skills
