Requirements
Must to have:
Deep expertise in SAP Basis Administration.
Strong experience administering SAP landscapes including S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, Solution Manager, SAP Web Dispatcher, and SAP Fiori components.
Proven experience performing system installations, upgrades, kernel patches, SPS/EHP upgrades, and system copies/refreshes across DEV, QA, and PRD environments.
Strong skills in SAP Transport Management System (TMS), client administration, and system parameter tuning.
Knowledge of SAP best practices and IT governance standards.
Extensive hands-on experience with SAP HANA database administration, including monitoring, performance tuning, memory/CPU optimization, and capacity planning.
Experience performing HANA backups, restores, point in time recovery, and lifecycle management.
Ability to troubleshoot HANA-related issues such as long-running queries, table growth, locks, and replication inconsistencies.
Experience supporting HANA revision upgrades and performing post upgrade validation.
Solid knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including HANA System Replication, Pacemaker, clustering, and failover testing.
Experience participating in DR drills, validating recovery procedures, and ensuring RTO/RPO compliance.
Ability to collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams (AWS, Azure, GCP, or on premises).
L3 expertise for SAP Basis and HANA incident management (P1/P2).
Strong skills in root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive measures.
Ability to troubleshoot performance, system availability, interfaces, batch jobs, background processing, and OS/DB layers.
Experience coordinating with SAP Support (OSS incidents) and third party vendors.
Knowledge of SAP technical security: user administration support, roles transport coordination, and system hardening.
Experience supporting audit and compliance activities (SOX, ITGC) including documentation and evidence management.
Ability to apply SAP Notes related to security vulnerabilities.
Experience preparing and maintaining operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
Experience using monitoring tools such as SAP Solution Manager, SAP Focused Run, or third party monitoring platforms.
Ability to identify automation opportunities within Basis operations.
Ability to mentor junior consultants and provide technical guidance.

5+ years of experience in SAP Basis and SAP HANA administration.

Responsibilities
Administer and support complex SAP landscapes including S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, Solution Manager, SAP Web Dispatcher, and SAP Fiori components.
Perform installations, upgrades, kernel patches, SPS/EHP upgrades, and system copies/refreshes.
Manage SAP transports, client administration, and system parameter optimization.
Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and internal IT governance.
Administer SAP HANA databases including monitoring, performance optimization, capacity planning, backups, restores, and point in time recovery.
Analyze and resolve HANA-related issues such as long-running queries, locks, and replication inconsistencies.
Support HANA lifecycle processes including revision upgrades and validation.
Design, support, and troubleshoot high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Participate in DR drills and ensure RTO/RPO alignment.
Collaborate closely with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure SAP landscape resilience.
Provide L3 support for complex SAP Basis and HANA incidents.

Coordinate OSS incidents with SAP and manage interactions with external vendors.

Identify and implement automation opportunities for repetitive Basis tasks.
Mentor junior Basis consultants and provide technical direction.
