At CGI, we are looking for a Data Engineer to join an international project.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- Conversational English (B2 or higher).
- 5 years of experience in similar or related roles.
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role with hands-on Databricks expertise.
- Strong technical depth in data engineering, ML pipelines, and distributed computing.
- Expertise with Unity Catalog, governance frameworks, and security best practices.
- Experience integrating Databricks with enterprise platforms (Snowflake, SQL Server, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
- Certifications in Databricks.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership & Best Practices:
- Partner with business units to promote Databricks best practices, including Unity Catalog governance, FinOps strategies, and DBU optimization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating business value.
AI/ML Workload Enablement:
- Lead the onboarding of AI/ML workloads on Databricks, covering model training, deployment, and integration with enterprise data pipelines.
- Provide hands-on guidance in building scalable ML pipelines and distributed computing solutions.
Solution Architecture & Delivery:
- Design and implement Databricks use cases and solution patterns from requirements gathering to proof-of-concept (POC) delivery.
- Ensure all solutions align with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
- Architect and deliver seamless integrations between Databricks and enterprise platforms such as Snowflake, SQL Server, ServiceNow, and other critical systems.
Performance & Cost Optimization:
- Drive cost optimization initiatives by monitoring workloads, implementing FinOps best practices, and tuning compute resources for efficiency.
- Continuously refine architectures to balance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of enterprise data governance, compliance, and security standards.

Complementary Skills:
This role requires a Databricks Engineer who can partner with business units to drive best practices in governance, FinOps, and workload optimization while leading the onboarding of AI/ML solutions. The architect will design and deliver scalable use cases and integrations with enterprise platforms, provide hands-on expertise in data engineering and ML pipelines, and ensure performance and cost efficiency. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role bridges technical depth with clear business value to support strategic goals.
